Mountable shaft collars with face holes are designed to mate directly with components such as sprockets, pulleys, and metallic plates. Ruland manufactures them with drilled holes for mounting flexibility or threaded holes for the most secure connection between the collar and mated component. They are offered in steel, aluminum, and 303 stainless steel in bore sizes ranging from 3/8” to 2” and 10mm to 50mm.
Clamp style universal joints improve over set screw style because they do not mar the shaft, offer infinite adjustability, and can be used on all shaft types. Ruland is the only North American supplier of clamp style universal joints and manufactures the clamp feature, bores, and keyways in our advanced manufacturing facility in Marlborough, MA USA. They are available in sizes from 1/4" to 1 1/4” in steel for high strength and stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
Ruland manufactures disc couplings in single and double disc styles with bores in inch, metric, and inch to metric combinations ranging from 1/8” to 1-1/4” and 3mm to 32mm. They utilize thin stainless steel disc springs that allow for a substantial amount of shaft misalignment while remaining rigid under torsional loads. Hubs are manufactured from lightweight 2024 anodized aluminum for low inertia. Ruland disc couplings are a simple assembly with few moving parts reducing the risk for coupling failure and backlash. They have a balanced design allowing for smooth operation at speeds up to 10,000 rpm. All disc couplings are carefully made from select North American bar stock in our Marlborough, MA USA factory under strict controls using proprietary processes and RoHS3 and REACH compliant.
Ruland double disc couplings are comprised of two anodized aluminum hubs, two sets of stainless steel disc springs, and a center spacer. This design allows the sets of disc springs to bend independent of each other to accommodate all forms of misalignment, including parallel. Center spacers are available in anodized aluminum or acetal for electrical isolation. Ruland disc couplings are zero-backlash and have a balanced design for reduced vibration at speeds up to 10,000 RPM. They are a simple assembly with few moving parts, reducing the risk of backlash and premature failure. Clamp and set screw hubs are available in bore sizes from 1/8” to 1-1/4” and 3mm to 32mm.
Ruland single disc couplings are comprised of two anodized aluminum hubs and one set of stainless steel disc springs. This design allows them to be used in confined spaces where other styles of coupling may not be able to fit. The single set of disc springs does not allow for any parallel misalignment.
Ruland electrically isolating double disc couplings are comprised of two anodized aluminum hubs, two sets of stainless steel disc springs, and an acetal center spacer. This design allows the sets of disc springs to bend independent of each other to accommodate all forms of misalignment, including parallel. Ruland disc couplings are zero-backlash and have a balanced design for reduced vibration at speeds up to 10,000 RPM. They are a simple assembly with few moving parts, reducing the risk of backlash and premature failure. Clamp and set screw hubs are available in bore sizes from 1/8” to 1-1/4” and 3mm to 30mm.
High torque and torsional stiffness with industry-leading misalignment capabilities due to Ruland’s proprietary disc spring design.
No contaminants will transfer from the coupling to the system because of machining processes that leave a fine, burr-free finish.
Speeds up to 10,000 RPMs with reduced vibrations due to our standard balanced design.
Suitable for a wide variety of precise positioning applications because of the three styles offered:
Single disc for compact installations.
Double disc with an aluminum center spacer for the best balance of torque, stiffness, and misalignment.
Double disc with an acetal center spacer for electrical isolation.
