Mountable shaft collars with face holes are designed to mate directly with components such as sprockets, pulleys, and metallic plates. Ruland manufactures them with drilled holes for mounting flexibility or threaded holes for the most secure connection between the collar and mated component. They are offered in steel, aluminum, and 303 stainless steel in bore sizes ranging from 3/8” to 2” and 10mm to 50mm.
Clamp style universal joints improve over set screw style because they do not mar the shaft, offer infinite adjustability, and can be used on all shaft types. Ruland is the only North American supplier of clamp style universal joints and manufactures the clamp feature, bores, and keyways in our advanced manufacturing facility in Marlborough, MA USA. They are available in sizes from 1/4" to 1 1/4” in steel for high strength and stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
Mini indexing plungers are designed for use in thin walled sheet metal applications. They are made of a plastic knob, zinc plated steel body, 301 stainless steel spring, and 303 stainless steel plunger pin. The plungers are positioned by holding the knurled knob and retracting the pin. Once the pin is retracted, the spanner flats on the lock nut are revealed and the precision mini indexing plunger can be tightened with an open end wrench. They are available with or without the lock-out feature and come in inch (5/16”-24 TPI) and metric (M8X1.0-M16X1.5) sizes.
Precision mini indexing plungers with the lock-out feature are designed for applications that require the plunger pin to be retracted for an extended period of time. After retracting the indexing pin, turn the knob 30 degrees, release the knob and it will stay in the retracted position via the indexing lock. In the rest position, the lock-out mechanism is completely concealed by the knob.
Mini precision indexing plungers without the lock-out feature are used in applications where the plunger does not have to stay retracted. The non-locking mini indexing plungers are commonly used in the medical and fitness industries for adjusting seat heights.
