Mountable shaft collars with face holes are designed to mate directly with components such as sprockets, pulleys, and metallic plates. Ruland manufactures them with drilled holes for mounting flexibility or threaded holes for the most secure connection between the collar and mated component. They are offered in steel, aluminum, and 303 stainless steel in bore sizes ranging from 3/8” to 2” and 10mm to 50mm.
Clamp style universal joints improve over set screw style because they do not mar the shaft, offer infinite adjustability, and can be used on all shaft types. Ruland VMTT70-58-M12-55-SSNR is a rubber bumper with a tapped hole. It has a 70mm outside diameter, M12 tapped hole, 12mm tapped hole depth, and 58mm height. This rubber bumper is used to dampen shock loads and reduce noise and wear on industrial equipment, machine doors, and floors or other surfaces which allows for a safer and more pleasant working environment. It is often referred to as a sandwich mount or rubber buffer because it functions as shock or vibration isolator sandwiched between two machine components or surfaces. VMTT70-58-M12-55-SSNR has a tapered (conical) shape for gentler accommodation of shock loads when compared to cylindrical types. It can be mounted to the system by threading it onto an existing stud on the components. The rubber jacket is made from natural rubber which has good elasticity and is well suited for most industrial equipment. VMTT70-58-M12-55-SSNR has 55 Shore A hardness for a balance of rigidty and shock absorption. The stainless steel body allows for increased corrosion resistance.
