Mountable shaft collars with face holes are designed to mate directly with components such as sprockets, pulleys, and metallic plates. Ruland manufactures them with drilled holes for mounting flexibility or threaded holes for the most secure connection between the collar and mated component. They are offered in steel, aluminum, and 303 stainless steel in bore sizes ranging from 3/8” to 2” and 10mm to 50mm.
Clamp style universal joints improve over set screw style because they do not mar the shaft, offer infinite adjustability, and can be used on all shaft types. Ruland is the only North American supplier of clamp style universal joints and manufactures the clamp feature, bores, and keyways in our advanced manufacturing facility in Marlborough, MA USA. They are available in sizes from 1/4" to 1 1/4” in steel for high strength and stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
Ruland manufactures three series of zero-backlash beam couplings in inch or metric dimensions with bores ranging from 3/32" (3mm) to 3/4" (20mm). Flexible beam couplings are machined from a single piece of material and feature multiple helical cuts. This design provides higher torque capabilities and reduced wind-up when compared to commodity type single beam couplings. They can accommodate all forms of misalignment and have a balanced design for reduced vibration at high RPM. All Ruland beam couplings are carefully made from select North American bar stock in our Marlborough, MA USA factory under strict controls using proprietary processes and RoHS3 and REACH compliant.
F-Series six beam couplings are ideal for light duty power transmission applications such as coupling a servo motor to a lead screw in a motion control system. These flexible couplings feature larger body size and stronger beams to provide high torque capacity and low windup, while not sacrificing misalignment capabilities. The demanding nature of reversing servo applications make the performance benefits delivered by the F-series beam coupling vital to maintaining the accuracy, repeatability and reliability of the system. F-series helical couplings with socket head cap screws include Ruland's exclusive Nypatch® coating. This coating reduces vibration which can cause threads to loosen, and reduces galling of the screw threads in stainless steel shaft couplings. Ruland manufactures F-series beam couplings from 7075 aluminum for lightweight and low inertia and 303 stainless steel for increased torque capabilities.
P-series beam couplings are designed specifically for precision applications, such as encoders and tachometers that use delicate components. The small bearings on these components make low radial forces essential to longevity and continued high performance. They provide extra flexibility to yield reduced bearing loads. These flexible couplings are shorter than the F-series six beam couplings and conform to industry standard lengths, fitting into confined spaces and allowing for easy retrofits in existing equipment. At the same time, the helical cut pattern continues to provide excellent torque capabilities and low wind-up. P-series beam couplings are manufactured from a single piece of 7075 aluminum for lightweight and low inertia or 303 stainless steel for increased torque capabilities.
MW-series four beam couplings differ from the P-series because they have pure metric outer diameter and length dimensions. Like the P-series, they are designed for precision applications, such as encoders and tachometers that use delicate components. The small bearings on these components make low radial forces essential to longevity and continued high performance. They provide extra flexibility to yield reduced bearing loads. Ruland clamp style beam couplings have reduced vibration at speeds up to 6,000 RPM due to a balanced design.
The highest size-for-size torque and torsional stiffness in the industry based on our proprietary beam design.
Coupling screws will not loosen during operation when using clamp style, six-beam couplings, which are treated with Ruland's performance-enhancing Nypatch® anti-vibration coating.
Ruland ensures superior product craftsmanship by manufacturing beam couplings from meticulously selected North American bar stock.
