Flexible Beam Couplings

Release Date: June 6, 2018

This video will help explain different applications and uses for a Flexible Beam Coupling.

Transcript

Hi, Bobby Watkins from Ruland Manufacturing and in this segment we're are going to talk about beam type couplings. Simple one-piece design, various materials and cut patterns to suit different applications. Has large misalignment capabilities and it's easy to install, so typically a good straight edge method of installation will get you within the specifications required for alignment with a beam type coupling. Step bore combinations are available, inch to metric, very common and they're good economical choice for many, many applications. So again, low torque capabilities compared to most of the other types of motion control couplings and they do have a significant amount of windup which in precision positioning applications could be an issue. You might want to look a another type of coupling but again if you're looking for some forgiveness, ease of installations, this could a be a very, very good choice for your application. You have any questions as to what type of coupling to use, feel free to contact us at Ruland.com
