Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for setting up and running jobs on Haas lathes and turning centers as well as incorporating suggestions from the Shop Supervisor
- Will be the responsible to maintain quality checks for jobs that have been set-up for production.
* Must be able to read and interpret part drawings - Must be proficient on CNC machining equipment such as lathes, turning centers, mills, and band-saws that comprise the job shop environment
- Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes and equipment preferred. As set-up machinist must maintain quality when tool wear affects part quality, and understand the process of adjustment to maintain the quality
- Ability to operate an overhead crane
- Have the ability to keep the machine loaded and in operation to maintain estimated production benchmarks
- Must be able to load and touch off tools, and probe datum points
- CNC machine operators must monitor machinery, tools and the work-pieces for any problems during the production run
Requirements
- Excellent math and planning skills
- Must follow and observe all company safety regulations and guidelines
- Basic computer skills required. To properly enter the appropriate data into Macola
- Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication
- Willing to learn; enjoys tackling new challenges
- Is organized and shows attention to detail, with a "get it right the first time" mindset
- Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
- Works well with team members or independently; gives and receives feedback in a constructive manner
- Makes timely and sound decisions; uses resources wisely

- Ability to stand for duration of shift, up to 10 hours; frequent walking
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Push and pull up to 90 lbs
- Ability to work with exposure to inside and outside temperatures, and loud noise
