Message about COVID-19

Ruland remains open as an essential business in the state of Massachusetts. The state has forced all non-essential businesses to close on March 24, 2020 until further notice.

Ruland Manufacturing supplies shaft collars, couplings, and other industrial components to a variety of customers in the medical equipment and devices field, including those that manufacture: diagnostic testers, hospital beds, and ventilators. We also supply these industries indirectly through our vast worldwide distribution network. Due to this we are deemed as “Critical Manufacturing” by the state of Massachusetts.

CRITICAL MANUFACTURING
Workers necessary for the manufacturing of materials and products needed for medical supply chains including personal protective equipment and hygiene products, transportation, energy, communications, food and agriculture, chemical manufacturing, nuclear facilities, the operation of dams, water and wastewater treatment, emergency services, and the defense industrial base.

All our production is done in our Massachusetts factory. We are well inventoried from finished goods to raw materials and everything in between. Based on current information we do not expect any major disruptions to our operation

We are closely following the WHO, CDC, and local guidelines to do the following among other things: frequently clean common areas and equipment, post bilingual signage and educate employees about the importance of hand washing, allow employees that can work from home to do so, practice social distancing, and amend our sick time policy. Every employee at Ruland wants to come to work and help our customers remain operational, especially ones the world needs most right now. We will continue to do so, as long as the safety of our coworkers is not compromised.

If the state puts additional restrictions on essential businesses, it may impact lead times. We can not say to what extent without knowing what those further restrictions are. Customer service and sales are working remotely and will continue to do so through the duration of this pandemic. We will keep you informed as updates become available.

Please contact us if you have any questions and we will respond promptly. Stay safe and stay isolated.

Best Regards,

Bob Ruland – Chairman
Bill Hewitson – President
Bobby Watkins – VP of Sales
Chris Gumas – Director of Marketing
