Hex keys are commonly used to tighten or loosen hardware on industrial equipment, shaft collars and couplings, and other small componentry. Ruland supplies longer than standard hex keys for hard to reach applications and increased leverage. They are color coded allowing them to be easily seen from a distance and preventing their loss among other black and gray tools and surfaces.
Torque wrenches are an installation tool used when precise screw torque is required. Ruland supplies torque wrenches in L, T, and screwdriver style in torque values ranging from 2 in-lb (0.23 Nm) to 675 in-lbs (76.28 Nm). They come standard with NIST traceable certifications and require regular calibration to maintain consistent performance.
Key stock is used to provide driving torque between two moving parts. They are often used in conjunction with a coupling to allow for higher torque capabilities in the application and prevent slippage on the shaft. Ruland key stock is supplied in 12” (300mm) lengths allowing the user to cut it down to the appropriate length for their application. They have a plus tolerance to assure tight fit with the keyway for positive, zero backlash power transmission.
Ruland Key stock is straight type with square pre-cut keys. They are available in zinc plated steel for higher torque applications as well as stainless steel for corrosive environments. Ruland key stock is US manufactured and RoHS complaint.
