Marlborough, MA - Ruland Manufacturing Co., Inc. is proud to sponsor the 2016 FIRST Robotics Competition by donating a large assortment of shaft collars, rigid couplings, and motion control couplings. The FIRST Robotics Competition kicked off on Saturday January 9th, and challenges high-school students from around the world to design, build, and program a complex robot within six weeks. Teams compete with their robots over 120 multi-day events worldwide – all leading up to the 2016 FIRST Championship at the Edward Jones Dome, April 27-30 in St. Louis. Ruland believes strongly in education and is excited to help inspire a future generation of engineers.
FIRST was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.
Ruland was established in 1937 and has focused on carefully made shaft collars and couplings for the last 40 years. All Ruland products are manufactured in our Marlborough Massachusetts USA factory under strict controls using proprietary processes. Ruland's complete product line includes shaft collars, rigid couplings and five types of zero backlash couplings: beam, bellows, disc, jaw, and oldham.
