Ruland encoder couplings are an ideal fit for precision sensor and encoder applications, which require a coupling that is both flexible and accurate. P- and MW-Series encoder couplings are designed to be torsionally stiffer with less wind-up than commodity style single beam couplings for increased performance and accuracy. Ruland encoder couplings are machined from a single piece of aluminum or stainless steel and have a multiple cut design to accommodate parallel misalignment, angular misalignment, and axial motion.
Encoder couplings from Ruland are zero-backlash and have a balanced design for reduced vibration and higher RPM capabilities. Both styles are available in type 7075 aluminum for lightweight and low inertia or stainless steel for increased torque capacity. Two styles of encoder couplings are offered for a wider selection of bore size combinations and performance characteristics. MW-Series couplings have pure metric length and outer diameter dimensions.
Ruland encoder couplings are available in clamp and set screw styles with inch, metric, and inch to metric bores ranging from 1/8" (3mm) to 1/2" (12mm). Clamping hardware tests to or above DIN 912 12.9 standards for maximum torque capabilities. Materials are sourced from select North American mills to ensure product consistency and all products are manufactured in our Marlborough, Massachusetts factory.
